Product Brief
Summary
A centralized product-data platform for Australian music retailers that ingests inconsistent supplier data, normalizes it into consistent business-ready fields, maps it into a standard taxonomy, and exposes it through a minimal API.
Problem
Retailers currently spend major effort gathering, cleaning, enriching, categorizing, and integrating product data from many suppliers with inconsistent formats and varying technical maturity.
Legacy precedent
A legacy ecosystem involving MusiPOS/APIC demonstrated that suppliers were willing to participate in a centralized data-sharing model, even though the legacy solution had major technical limitations.
Proposed solution
Provide retailers with a prebuilt catalog-data layer / PIM-like platform that centralizes supplier data and makes it integration-ready.
Primary users
Australian music retailers.
MVP
- Ingest supplier data
- Normalize core product fields
- Normalize standard taxonomy
- Expose minimal API for downstream integrations
